You find yourself awake in a small cave, with only a bed made of twigs and leaves, a kettle for water, and a campfire for warmth. You must survive, even if there are no predators around.

This is just a demo, I do plan on making a proper game based on this concept, and this is also the very first game (demo) that i'm releasing/made, and honestly this was an interesting experience and can't wait to see what more there is to come.

Made for the "My First Game Jam" Summer 2021 Game Jam.

Really cool visuals. I loved the character model and the shadow work! Would love to see what you do with it if you continue it.

I do have to agree with the others that the jump sound got really annoying after a bit though.

For a first go at making a game, you were able to make a cool running text system. Points for that!

Really fun game, it feels fairly good to play and easy to control. Just noticed a few visual flickering, but nothing major. Good Job

Cool intro and character sprites. It's got some potential. I noticed I can play jump effects as long as I hit spacebar.

I really like the art in this one and the music is fitting as well! Mechanics and jump felt good but I will agree with what another post says in that the jump sound got a bit old. I didn't really understand the ending either but the game plays well! Looking forward to when you expand this out!

Very impressive visuals for just 14 days. I really like how the player moves in and out of the shadows. Very well done, and very polished as well. Look forward to seeing more of this.

nice pixels, and i noted the easter egg in the last sentence of the beginning monologue ;)

I like the game's aesthetic, the jump sound got pretty annoying to listen to though. Also I didn't quite understand the ending? Did I discover myself?

In any case, it plays really well. Feels very responsive to each jump. You can play using WASD and Space, but the W key doesn't make you jump. If using arrow keys, the up arrow does make you jump. Not sure if that was intentional.

Anyways, seems like a great game for your first ever game jam! Look forward to seeing more!

Thanks! The ending was essentially finding your inner demon, and the controls are a bit finnicky when not using arrow keys, I do plan on adjusting that, or even making it so that players can bind their own keys to it. There's still more that I need to refine when it comes to the movement mechanics but that'll be for the future. Thanks for the input though!
